A chronic daydreamer, Shannon left his home in Tougaloo, Mississippi at 16 to pursue his dream of becoming a professional ballet dancer. Shannon's lifelong fascination for what is on "the other side of the wall" has always driven him to explore beyond the limits.
That fascination and drive eventually earned him a job as a dancer with the Houston Ballet and to New York where he spent 10 years working and studying photography at the International Center of Photography and The School of Visual Arts.
He furthered his Photography education by assisting some of the top photographers in New York including legendary Magnum Photographer, Bruce Davidson and renowned food and travel photographer, Ben Fink.
Shannon has returned to Houston with his wife and daughter to take a look back and explore the life and culture that he left so long ago, to better understand the things that have influenced his life and give homage.
